London adventures

I don't think that my blog is saving so maybe I will be repeating myself. Anyway...we are staying in a self contained flat in West Kensington, the dodgy end, with piles of garbage outside most places, a suspicious flat down the street with boarded up windows, yet a few likely lads knocked on the door and waited, a police car hovering in the general direction of the abovementioned flat...but all adds to the cosmopolitan feel :)
We went to Greenwich yesterday to see the Cutty Sark. We didn't go in but took some pictures from outside, which turned out ok, then walked to the Royal Observatory to see the line of meridian plus the museum attached. The view from the grounds was spectacular.
Loads of people around, pretty good weather too.
We also went on the Emirates Sky Flight which went out over the Thames - similar to a cable car. The views were pretty cool although the car was swaying a bit which wasn't a nice sensation. We looked in the O2 stadium although there was no access to the actual areana, just all the shops, movie theatre and other attractions. It put our Entertainment Centre to shame.
What else did we do?? Mmmm, can't recall.
Other things we have done in London include a walk down Fleet Street, hoping that The Cheshire Cheese was open or Samuel Johnson's house but both closed for the public holiday. B.I.L #1 caught up with a colleague and we tagged along. We had a yummy lunch at Thd Crypt, underneath St Martin's-in-the - Fields Church. We then went into the church to listen to a recital, a quartet playing Bach and Haydn. The church was packed and the music was glorious. We walked around Covent Gardens - again packed. We visited ths Twinings shop and a chocolate shop.
Saw a funny thing - two Japanese people walking one Pekingnese dog, which was dressed up in the most ridiculous outfit, like a little ballerina. The other dog was in a carrier bag. Reminded me of a few people I know who love to dress their pooches up  :) haha..
Tomorrow we head off to Newcastle to start our next walking adventure.
