Twice Brewed to Lanercost 26 km

Sadly no pictures to post today as I had my tablet packec in the backpack and didn't get much opportunity to take it out. I did get some shots on the camera so not all bad news. The walk started off with some nasty descents again - muddy, slippery, steep and of course mh knees didn't provide any help in transfering me safely. Had to cling on to the wall (thanks Hadrian!!) or go very, very slowly, which I suspect frustrated the other two people walking with me.  Anyway, the climbs were ok, not as bad in the mud going up.
Saw lots of segments of the wall and stopped at Birdoswald Roman museum which was great bug didn't spend a lot of time as we were kind of rushing. I ate a suspe t sandwich which gave me horrible stomach cramps for a few hours, and I almost threw up, but this passed, thank goodness.
The scenery was spectacular - green fields again with stone walls and not all of them Hadrian's.  :)  Lots of cute lambs with their mums. We got accosted by a horse at one of the gates. He refused to move and he decided to block my way by almost shirtfronting me, almost got a kiss from him! I think this might be a regular ploy in order to obtain food from walkers :)
The last few kilometres were especially hard today for many reasons and I was pleased to finally hobble into Lanercost B and B, which is right next to a priory, so will have to get some pictures tomorrow, if I can.
The owner of the B and B cooked us and the other 4 guests a 3 course meal for tea. The first course was a souffle type thing with a very runny egg and salad. The main was LAMB with veg. I couldn't eat the lamb as I don't usually eat things that have faces  :) except for chicken, so I had to leave that on the plate. Dessert was strawberries with a cream topping. It was ok, I guess, something different but nothing I would have chosen to eat if given a menu. Still, it was nice to stay in to eat instead of going out.
Tomorrow we have another big walk into Carlisle but I am hoping for less mud and NOdescents of significance as without panadol on board, it will be too painful to walk. I reckon I have gone through 50 panadol in 4 weeks. That can't be good!
